My 92 Dakota had set for a long time (Probably a year or so)-
little fuel in tank. I decided to bring it back to life - it started with
no issue - added fuel system cleaner and a new tank of gas.
Ran out about a quarter of a tank done to 3/4 full and the
engine died - no ruff idle - it just died. Started it back up -ran
great for a while - died again. Started back up - this happened
3-4 times within probably 5 min or so. Last time it would crank
but no start . No furel/pressure at fuel rail. Replaced fuel filter
first. No change. Figured pump might be bad after sitting so
long. Replaced pump. No start - same.
Ch for power at pump - no power ( with test light at each wire)
ch fuse - all fuses appear ok ( didn’t have diagram of fuse
layout) ch fuses under dash and hood .

This may be the infamous bad splice, which is
underneath the windshield washer jug. There isa
factory splice that corrodes and can affect power
to the ASD relay and/or the starter relay.

Did some looking and found no infamous break in wire near
 washer jug.

Wondering about terminals for pump relay - with meter -
common probe on neg battery terminal and other probe on B
 terminal I have 12 v w key off
 Nothing on terminals C, A, or D

 With key on 12v on A, B, and C
 Nothing on D
Can a new wire be ran from from D to pump ?
Is there anything in circuit between D terminal at power
 distribution panel?

What is the normal sequence of events when key is turned to
on ? Is there always power at pump terminal and the negative
side of circuit is what closes for pump to operate ?
 I
