My husband and I have a 1998 Dakota SLT 4WD. It is a club
cab, V8, 5.2 L engine. There is no tow package. The GVWR
is 5600 and the GCWR is 9200 lbs. The axle ratio is 3.55.
We are looking at a 2010 Jayco Jay Feather 24T ultra lite
travel trailer at a local dealership. The unloaded vehicle
weight is 4845 lbs, GVW is 6250 and hitch weight is 645.
Cargo carrying capacity is 1405. Manager who has been with
this dealership for 40 years was quite confident our truck
would be fine pulling this because of the V8 engine but we're
not so sure. This is our first RV so we are quite green at
figuring this all out.
