I had a 73 duster with the 318 and the problem I
had is one day it would not start. it would turn
over all day but that was it so I replaced just
about anything that I though would help and
NOT!!so I called a friend and he said that on the
fire wall in the engine compartment you will find
a (i am not sure what it is called)but it was
ceramic and it was white he said replace that and
it will start. So I did and sure enough it fired
right up. that part cost about $4.00. May not even
have this part any more but it is something else
to look for. Its worth a shot. Happy New Year

Don't think they use ballast resistors anymore. Have
you checked the splices under the relay box?

No they do not use the ballast..

Brent here you go....

If the engine light is on, Check for codes.
Light is NOT on go to the wire splice.

Under hood black fuse/relay box
Located drivers side inner fender well

Remove the box carefully
untape the wire harness (6 to 8 inches back)

You are now looking for a splice of 3 to 4 wires
These are usually red/white striped

The splice gets cruded up or breaks all together
Cut the splice out
re-do it
tape the harness back up
(tight & neat to keep water/moisture out)

Re-attach the box

If this doesn't solve your problems
Then you should check fuel pressure next.

Correction on final part..

If this doesn't fix your problem
(skip fuel pressure)

You will want to check the Crank Sensor

99% of 92 - 96's Have suffered weird problems
that can all be fix with that splice....
