Steering went south. After replacing 3 rebuilt steering racks, finally got the right one. That was the issue! It got me scratching my head big time. Like what is really going on??

The point is...Don't buy rebuilt if you don't have to, back in the carburated days it wasn't uncommon to get two or three bad rebuilds, so looks like things haven't changed much.

The only reason I posted my screw - up was because of the steering re-calls etc. that had infected the Dakota's. Going through this B.S. was a bit head-scratching for me, and did not want anyone else in the 'neighborhood' to make the same mistakes I did...
