Please help!!!! I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4.7 V8. I just bought the truck a few days ago and when I got it home to start detailing it, I noticed my floorboards were wet. I pulled the carpet back and both sides (driver and passenger) are just soaked.

Would the AC drain tube cause both sides to become wet or just the passenger side? If just the passenger side, what's the issue with my driver floor being the same way. I'm new to the Dakota world, any help would be great!! And it's pure water, not coolant.

The person or dealer that sold you the truck knew about this, they always do, there dis_honest.

Does it smell like coolant? Is it water? Have you been running the A.C.?

No it's not coolant, pure water. No I haven't had it long enough to run AC. It's been raining a heck of a lot here in Cleveland and after it rained once, both sides were soaking wet underneath the carpet. Everyone keeps telling me to check AC drain tube in which I haven't been able to find yet.

I don't think it is the AC drain. I think some rain water is getting in. Use a hose around the window area and try to find a leak. You could use silicone chaulk to seal the leak.

I had the same truck and had this problem before. The wiper cowl needs to be removed and all the crud under it needs to be hosed out. I forget exactly how it was explained to me, something ot the effect that when too much leaves and dirt accumulated under there water couldn't drain off properly and would instead go through the AC drain tube and into the cab.

Seems like a silly design that would allow this to happen, but I had the area under the wiper cowl cleaned out and never had the problem again.
