So I went through a large mud hole a bunch of times and afterward my truck was misfiring and running like crap. Then the check engine light came on and I went to autozone to see what code it was. Cylinder 8 was misfiring so I bought new plugs. I went to pull off the K&N intake to start replacing the plugs when I noticed the crankcase breather tube wasn't attached. I said f*$%, and sure enough I pulled off the intake and it was filled with dried sandy mud. So pulled the tb and completely cleaned it and the intake, put it back, ran sea foam through the vacuum hose into the tb and attempted to try and clear the intake manifold. I know it's probably not a good idea to flush it all through the cylinders but I figured it's a little too late for that.

After doing all that I put the new plugs in and prayed for the best. When I pulled #8, that threw the code, I noticed the gap on the plug was huge. How the hell could that have happened? Maybe water hitting the plug and warping it???

It's better but still runs rough with less power compared to the clean smooth pull it used to have.

So I'm just wondering if anybody can tell me what likely got effed up and how I could get her running smooth again. It doesn't seem to be burning oil. Could it be valves, rings, spark still bad?

I'd appreciate any ideas and some advice from someone more knowledgeable than I

THANK YOU

I am willing to bet if not already, your rings will be fubar (f-ed up beyond all recognition). I had a buddy who had that problem with his jeep, eventually the piston rings didn't even 100% contact the cylinder walls.

I would pull the heads off and clean it all out before you run it any more, you may be able to save the rings by doing so.
