Subject: Fuel Pump Problem
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 98 5.2 with no voltage to fuel pump relay. PCM(Module) not sending voltage to relay in PDC(relay panel). Could it be wiring connection problem in PDC or fault to PCM preventing power up of fuel pump. Jumped fuel pump at PDC and fuel pump operates. ASD(shutdown relay) not pulling in with key start.Should it be energized?

ANY SUGGESTIONS?????

THANKS

**NOTE: Approximately two weeks before failure, Check engine light code for Park/Neutral switch came on. The truck ran for a couple weeks with no problem while the CEL was on. The CEL shut off on its own. Truck does crank.

Bob, since you ahd a CEL code for the Park/Neutral safety switch. No cranking or fuel pump if that switch is telling the PCM that the truck is in gear.

Daddio, thanks for your response.

If that P/N switch is faulty and it is telling the truck it is in gear, are you saying that:

There would be no AND no fuel
or
There would be no crank OR no fuel.

My truck does crank, just no power to fuel pump relay.

Thanks again, Daddio.

I will be in the garage this afternoon trying to get the old girl running again for work tomorrow so if other suggestions come to mind, please let me know.
