Hi kowalski! I just got last saturday my 2001 dakota 4.7L. I checked the transmission fluids and they look bright red so, (thanks for the comments on the last post) and also they replaced the engine oil. Nice!... I really love the truck runs very nice, lots of power, the suspension its different than a 2WD. the ride its smoother!
What king of spark plugs would you recommend me to use for this engine? I put before NGK-V POWER on my V6 but I dont know if I could use the same brand for a 4.7L. This weekend I'm planing to do the tune-up, I was impressed when I knew this engine doesn't have a Distributor and no spark plugs wires. Seems like only the spark plugs, air filter and engine oil (synthetic oil or W10-30?)will do the tune-up.

Congratulations ! I run the autolite stock equivelants in mine. The 4.7 is designed with tighter tolerances than older design engines, should be slightly better economy with 5w30. I favor synthetic. Enjoy your new truck !
