Subject: help electrial problems

i have a 95 dakota 5.2 and it was siting for w while when i tryed to start it the fuel pump didnt work so i found out i was getn no power so i jumpd the wire right to the relay so now when i turn on the key it comes on now i found out i have no spark do you tihnk that my ignation could be done or my cap, and rotor

Check your distributer cap. It might have developed condensation/corrosion from sitting, and is shorting out. How long has it been since it ran last?

Pull the cap off, and use a hair-dryer to evaporate any moisture off. (NOT a heat-gun)

check for spark at the coil. if it's not there it could be the crank sensor. if i remember correctly it's supposed to act like that. if the PCM does not see spark the ASD will keep power from the fuel pump. so you've got to fix the no psark first.

have you checked for codes?

thanks for the info it has been siting for a month and i was at a garage today and he said to check my crank sensor too, and for the pump sweet thanks so i can take the away the jumper wire, that is runing the fuel pump, thanks alot
