I have a 2006 Dodge Dakota SLT Quad Cab. It does not have a factory tow package installed. What is the towing capacity of the vehicle and if i add a tow package does it help increase the towing weight? thank you very much!

i doubt there would be much difference between the towing package and a standard truck. maybe an aux trans cooler and a 7 wire trailer connection. nothing you can't add easily with aftermarket parts.
by the way from the iformation you've given it's impossible to find the rated towing capacity. engine size, gear ratio, 4x2 or 4x4, tire size, these all come into play when looking for rated tow capacity.
also, if you'd have mentioned the sources you already tried, you probably wouldn't have got that response from "well". you did leave yourself open.
i bet if you "googled" vehicle towing capacity, you'd find quite a few sites that can give you the info you need.

Without a tow package, there can be no tow rating for your uglyass Dakota.
The obvious reason is: there's no way to tow.
