I have 3 questions about my truck.

1. The truck seems to run good all around except when i get on a hill. as i start to climb the hillthe engine begins to cut out or miss causing a lack of power. if i let off the gas alittle i can still make it up the hill but there is a lack of power. i just changed the cap and rotor but this did not fix the problem. what could be causing this?

2. Coming to stops i have noticed a little "clunk" in the front end some where. there is a light tapping or clicking going down the road sometimes also. when i engage 4x4 and do any turning there is a hellish knocking/clunking/metal sound in the front end. axles look to be in good condition and all ball joints seem ok and tight. something i can test?

3. the AC was working very good last season, this season it was working good also but hasn't been as cold. i bought a recharge 134a kit but i am a bit nervous as to how to fill the system. the can says to plug into the low pressure service port, which i am not sure of. In the engine bay there is a sticker that says it is a high pressure system and should only be charged professionally.
any ideas?

thanks very much in advance

well i have a 93 5.2l 4x4 and have experienced the issues you have sort of:
1) my guess would be the fuel pump or a possible fuel line leak. I found when trying to climb hills, i'd loose power too. since then, i've run a couple of cans of Seafoam through the system, poured it in the PCV valve line, and in the gas tank and in through the carbs (took air cleaner out). the truck smoked like crazy, but it seemed to work. Gave the system a good clean for sure. I can hear my fuel pump whining, so i imagine it's on the way out, but until then, i was happy with the Seafoam fix. you can get it at most good parts stores.

2) my clunking was from a bad universal joint

3) can't help you there.

Good Luck!
