Yes, I did install the TPS correctly. Had to rotate slightly to get bolt
holes to line up.

According to you other post you had issues with getting it to start because of the terminal connectors needed replacing. With the bad connection, the ignition system did not provide sufficient juice going for the spark plugs. More than likely the spark plugs are done and as a result the injectors have become dirty. Replace the spark plugs and then add some good fuel injector cleaner (STP) to the gas to clean the injectors.

Before doing that, you should follow up on daddio's advice. Just ignore the person who is spoofing him.

daddio did not tell hem anything that wasn't stated prior to daddio's post, it was an idea taken from another post. The two of you are a waste of good air.

Jesse watch listening to daddio or Kowalski. They are just parts changers just like the dealer. Their attitude is just to keep on changing parts till they hopefully get the right one.

jesse, this was my last post:

""got an initial reading of 5.12 volts"

was that reading taken at the idle position with the engine off key turned to "on"?

if so something is wrong. at idle you should be somewhere between +.5vdc and +.7vdc for proper idle."

i didn't see you reply to it so i figured my little shadow may have steered you away. unfortunately he tries to fight a battle of wits severely underequipped. he can't even do a good impersonation of Texas Todd.

Yeah, what an idiot. Calling you a parts changer while you're explaining exactly how to trouble shoot the part...

My time to work on this problem has been limited due to thesis
writing. Girlfriend needed her truck, so I broke down and took it to
a shop. Looks like one of the leads to the TPS has been gounding
out and frying the TPSs. Mechanic thinks crappy radio install from
previous owner maybe the cause. I appreciate all the help that was
given.

thanks kowalski. yes, my shadow couldn't be further from the truth stating that you and i are "just parts changers". i don't have the funds or time for that kind of troubleshooting. i've been working on my own vehicles for almost 30 years and still enjoy doing it if for nothing more than the satisfaction of saying i did it myself.
