So i got to thinking how poorly the weight on our trucks is located. The battery, steeringwheel and pedals, gas tank, and driver all sit on the driver side of the vehicle, and as far as i can tell, nothing to even out the weight is on the passenger side. Was this just bad engineering or am i missing something? this all a giant conspiracy to get us to rotate and use tires more rapidly? hah

Could be just something they didnt think of, or could be weight on the passengerside that i didnt notice i guess.

The way i see it, if the gas tank and battery were on the passengerside instead, the weight would be balanced better since there will always be a drivers weight close to the weight of the gas and battery, and less commonly a passenger

any thoughts or reasoning? just has me puzzled and curious about this, just seems foolish.

In my 1998 Toyota Tacoma, the driver side springs are stiffer than the passenger side springs. The owner's manual and service manuals even makes a point of it.
In my 2004 Dakota, there's no difference between driver and passenger side springs.

i don't know about you but, as often as you have have to put gas in these things, i sure wouldn't want to have to go to the passenger side everytime.

it would be a slight inconvience, but if being lazy was the reason they put all the weight on the drive side, then this world is in serious trouble

come to think of it, it'd just be easier to move the sterring columne to the right side than move everything else over.
