Does it lose spark when it dies ? A coil with an open winding can separate when it warms up; causing the symptoms you describe.

Today i replaced the cam shaft sensor and that didn't work so i guess i'll replace crankshaft sensor it runs good at 2500 rpm but as soon as i put it in reverse or drive it starts backfiring it only has sixteen thousand miles it also has headers and k\n fipk it was running perfect until i parked it in my fathers garage 3 months ago.This is bull---- anybody can replace all the sensors.Sorry a little venting going on here.

you're on the right track. you may want to check the wires to the CPS(crank position sensor) since you said it was parked for 3 months. is it possible some kind of critter had access to your wiring in your truck while it was parked?

Thanks to all for the help and yeah something could have gotten in garage I'll check that out and replace the crankshaft sensor if i have to.I'll let you know how i made out.
