Can I just wrap the split hose with some type of tape. Electrical or thermal tape. I cut it last time and put it back on then cleared the code but I guess the heat of the engine has cracked it again.

Or you could go to your local auto parts store and purchase some hoses and clamps that just might fix it permanently.
