I am having a new issue with my truck. It is a 2000 dak club cab 4.7 auto. The power door locks arent working properly. I cannot lock them with either of the switches or the alarm remote. The only time I can get any sort of automation out of them is if lock them manually, set my alarm, and than when I disarm my alarm they will unlock by themselves. It is the same thing when I turn off my truck, if I had locked them manually, when I turn the ignition off they will unlock. I dont understand it!! I dont see this as being an actuator problem as I have had that happen before, and this is affecting BOTH sides. I can unlock and lock the doors with the key or by hand no problem. I can hear a relay "pop" sound on the passenger side by the dash when I hit the switch but nothing happens, just the sound. Any ideas?? The fuse on left side of the dash is fine BTW.

i had the same problems in my 94 5.2. i took the door panels off and saw that a clip had broken off inside so it wasn't pushing the locks up. i kinda just rigged it to work since i don't have cash lawin around. but try looking inside the door penels and see if thats the problem

Not related to yours but my back drivers side (QC) has a buzzing noise when it locks and unlocks. And sometimes doesn't lock. Was going to take off the panel but too cold last weekend.

Anybody seen this problem? Will it require a new part, or can something be taken apart and fixed?

If new part, available at only the dealer or any Autozone / O'reilly's etc?

I have the same problem with the buzzing noise on the drivers side only when unlocking, but have not tried to fix it yet.

I have a problem with the rear passenger door lock. Sometimes it works fine. Other times it makes a loud noise from that door when locking or unlocking. Sometimes it even jams in the locked position and you can not unlock. I checked all the linkage and it seems fine. Bad electric lock?

Just had the same problem with my 2000 4.7 liter.

The DS door lock would buzz loudly when unlocking. Bought a new lock assembly from the dealer for about 70.00 dolars.

Job was a little tricky, so if you don't have good mechanical abilty you might want to get some help. I also have the big orange maintenance manual which helped out.

Removed the door panel, connectors, linkage, etc...and was able to get to the lock assembly and replace.

No more problems and probably saved myself some $$$$$

Anyplace to get the lock assembly besides dealer (and cheaper)? I was going to tear into mine today.
