sounds like the setup on my RAM 1500

you can access the passenger side bulb
from behind,

but have to remove the driver's side (battery too)
headlight assembly from the truck to acces the bulb

I didn't mean the battery as to be removed too,
I meant, 'the battery is on that side also'..

Don't worry..some vehicles both side headlight
assemblies have to be removed to access the bulbs.

It was only 3 screws on my RAM,
and a lot less of a hassle than trying to wiggle
the bulb into a tight spot with my fingertips

Just replaced both bulbs in my 2004. I have the tools, so I usually remove whatever is in the way of access to whatever I'm working on.
Yes, I removed the battery to replace the driver side headlight bulb. Only took a couple minutes to remove, and made access to the back of the headlight assembly much easier.
