Subject: PCM for 97 Dakota?
IP: Logged

Message:
I recently swapped the V6 out of my 97 Dakota 4xx Sport with manual tranny for a 318. I need to know what PCM part number I need and if just any PCM from a 97-99 318 Dakota/Durango will work. Appreciate the help!

I think it needs to be year specific to correctly interface with the rest of the truck, including transmission and emissions package. Don't know part #, but you should be able to find a used one at car-part.com. A boneyard PCM will run my '00 4.7 with no problem; but I hear the 5.2 guys need to have the VIN# flashed into it by the dealer. It may be problematical if one of the trucks in the PCM swap has a factory alarm.
