I have a 98 Dakota with a four cyl. I want to swap the engine with something hotter, I was wondering what you guys would recomend. I was kind of hoping for an eight cyl. but with the prices of gas, if you know a really good six I would probally go for that insted.

The swap is not that hard if you have everything. The whole dash wiring harness will have to change to work with the gauges and everything else with a different motor. You could just buy a vehicle with the V6 already in it. They are pretty peppy and get decent gas mileage. The 4.7 that I have has plenty of power and I normal get around 21mpg. I also have a lead foot. I love it.
Finally... a V8. '01 Dodge Dakota RC, 4.7, 5-speed, 3.92 LSD. = R/T Killer.
