 Subject: Charging Problem

I have a 1991 Dakota 5.1L v8 4x4. The other morning My truck cranked hard and when it started I noticed it wasnt charging. I replaced the alternator with no success and checked power to alternater and fuseable links still no success My gauge barely comes of the 8 mark any help on this would be greatly areciated
