I'm getting a cat back Flowmaster exhaust system installed soon and I just can't decide about the exits. I want something creative; I don't want the "shotgun" style, two straight out the back under the bumper. I also don't want to cut on the body, although that does look really cool. I was thinking about exiting behind the rear wheels. Either both exiting behind one rear wheel, or using single in/dual out tips so I have 2 exiting each side (I just like the way 2 looks, rather than 1). My question is this: is using single in/dual out tips lame? Would it look like a poser? What do ya'll think? I want something kinda original, but definitely cool. Any feedback, links, pics, ideas, etc. would be very much appreciated.

IMHO dual rear exit SUCKS!!!! the big one. I just got rear ended for the second time in six months and I am having to have my pipes tweaked for the second time in six months. Im gonna push hard to have it re-routed behind the rear tires on either side. Single exit each side.

I have a true dual setup with both pipes coming out behind my right rear tire. I haven't seen too many Daks like that around.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Either just like what you have, or two out BOTH sides right behind the rear tire. I just don't know if the single in/ dual out tips are lame or not. I'm taking a poll:

LAME or COOL

Irrelevant Information:
My dad's old Ford F-150 came from the factory with a cat back dual out the side behind the right rear tire. '92 maybe?

I like just one side. Not both. 4 tail pipes seems kind of ricey to me.

Ok, this is what I've decided to do.
My bumper is the half chrome/half plastic type. Since I don't want the exits under the bumper, I'm thinking about just going through the bumper.
I got this idea from a SRT-10. The SRT-10 has dual pipes exiting on one side through the rear bumper. The bumper is all painted and molded to accept the pipes.
First of all, I want to paint the plastic part of my bumper. I am a metal fabricator, so at work I can laser cut a horseshoe shaped piece of polished stainless steel, with 3 or 4 countersunk mounting holes for polished stainless steel hex bolts, to act as an intermediary between the bumper and pipes.
I will cut away two sections of the bumper. I will have to do one pipe on each side instead of the SRT-10 style because of the bumper bracing and the tow hitch. I will have to modify those a little as well. Then install the horseshoe shaped pieces and the exhaust tips. I want to find some tips shaped like the Cheyenne tips. They are round but with a flat bottom and rolled. The flat bottom will be flush with the bottom of the bumper.
So, my bumper will be chrome and paint, will dual exhaust running through it. If everyone could give me some feedback that would be awesome. Also, if this really looks good, I'll laser cut those horseshoe pieces for anyone who wants a pair, and ship 'em to ya!
