Subject: Resetting PCM

Alright, I have an intake on order, just ordered it today. After I throw it on, should I pull the necative leg of the battery to reset the PCM, and then drive it like I drive it. On the back roads, or the highway? Alongside that, I went from an 84, to a 2001.. So, when I disconnect the battery, what's it going to unprogram besides the cd player? Thanks

Aside from your stereo, your trip meter will be reset as well.

Here's some info from the tips and tricks page at www.speedtweaks.net

When should I reset the PCM:

If you change items such as the Throttle Body, Headers, Ignition System (or any internal parts with aftermarket, performance parts), then you should reset the PCM. Items such as: Plug Wires, Cap, Rotor, Spark Plugs, Muffler, and Air Filter (not intake...filter) don't require this at all. The PCM will gradually relearn as you drive anyway...that takes about 200 miles for a complete long-term learn.
