one thing i will tell you
when or if you do the swap
use the exhaust manifolds off the 92!

and as far as the engines only thing i can think of is the 92 is EGR 96 may not be

1992 and 1996 engine computers are different. '92-'93 exhaust manifolds were 1/4" larger inside diameter.

Use all the bolt-ons (including intake and exhaust) from the '92. The '96 will not be quite as punchy since the cam timing was dialed back a little after '92. Course, you could always use the '92's cam, but if you're gonna do that, you might as well get an even better cam.

1990 sport RC SB, 1995 318drivetrain, 3.92 gears (came with truck) Powertrax "traction system", 95 dash/steering wheel, hearthrob exhaust, headers, cutout after y-pipe, necessary electric fan add-a-leafs, 30x9.5 mud tires, cranked T-bars, AR 39 15x8 rims, grill guard, roll bars

dude, the 96 isnt gonna be any better than the 92. the only differences between the engines is the 96 uses a OBD2 computer which comtrolls the transmission if its automatic. the 92 uses OBD1. the exhaust is different 2. its a retarded swap.
