How does this 5.7 hemi push out 340hp while my 5.9 r/t only has 250 hp. Im waiting to catch one on the road. Should be an interesting race?

does anyone know if the 4.7L has sleeves in the block like the 4.6L mustang? if so is there a stroker out for it? are the stock internals forged or no? just would like to know for my own good. it is always good to know what you are playing with!!

An interesting note concerning the ability of a head to "breath". Of course we all know that the Hemi-head is unsurpassed in breathing ability.........or is it? An interesting story at Allpar.com relates how Chrysler engineers discovered, during development testing, that the little 170 c.i. slant 6 actually breathed better than any of their Hemis!! In fact, they surmised that a Hemi would have to have 3 inch intake valves in order to breath as well as the little 6-banger!!

Well, we might not have to wait too much longer. My brother-in-law works for NVG, the transfer case manufacturer for DC and he has seen hemi powered Dakatas, along with the new larger hemi, being torture tested at the NVG testing grounds. The word at the plant, fwiw, is that the hemi will be available in the '06 Dak, once the Ram is available with the bigger hemi.
Not holding my breath, but hopefully it will finally happen.
