 Subject: 3.9 to 5.2 swap

i have a 89 dakota and am going to put in a 5.2 mag out of a 92 i know all the wiring hassles what i need to know is if i k=need to run new fuel lines or just change the fuel pump

what components do you have so far?
see if you can get everything from the 92, it makes life easy, at least as far as wiring goes
1990 sport RC SB, 1995 318drivetrain, 3.92 gears (came with truck) Powertrax "traction system", 95 dash/steering wheel, hearthrob exhaust, headers, cutout after y-pipe, necessary electric fan add-a-leafs, 30x9.5 mud tires, cranked T-bars, AR 39 15x8 rims, grill guard, roll bars

i will have everything out of it comp wiring harness every sensor .... what i was wondering if the fuel lines need to be modified comming into the engine bay since mine is a tbi

you will have to do some wiring
the fuel lines, lets see, i think on my 90 there were two small line running from the tank, on the 95 there was one large line and one small line for the evap system
on my 90 the fuel lines came out on the pass side and on the 95 they kind of ran up the drivers side and popped out in the middle
the whole thign was a hasle, but it wasnt too bad becuase i took the wiring harness from the 95 that went back to the tank, tail lights, ect and i also took the fuel tank itself because it was a 22 gallon tank where as my 90 had a 15 gallon
i took the dashboard, all the wiring, everything
ther eis no original wiring left in my 1990, its all from the 95

is there a difference between a 4x4 and a 4x2
mine is a 89 4x4 and i am putting in a 92 out of a 4x4

a difference as in what?
if they are both 4x4 it should work fine, i jsut pulled the main 1/2 bolts out of the motor mounts and dropped it into place, worked fine

oh, there will be a difference in the tranny mount
so i swiped the crossmember from the 95 and stuck it in, the mounting bolts and hole locations are the same on the frame, the crossmember jsut jsut bolted to the tranny in a different manner
