I got a 92 V8 4x4 auto trans. The problem is wether I'm in o/d or not when cruising the truck acts like someone is turning the fuel on and off. It generaly happens between 50 & 60 with the o/d off and 55 & 65 with the o/d on. I have replaces the feul pump, the O2 sensor, and fuel filter and have no change. Any Ideas would be helpful

I don't know if a 92 has fuel injection or not but if so it could be the throttle position sensor. My 99 did the same thing and after checking a few things I found it to be the TPS. 56$ and a few minutes later the trouble was gone.

Yeah I have replaced the plugs, wires, cap, and button. I got a good coil and throttle postion sensor in the garage. I'll try one at a time and see which one does it and leave some feedback after I try them.

Mileage, and/or time may be doing a number on your '92's engine computer. I had a '92 5.2 that developed a "seizure" randomly at cruising speeds. The dealer's scope would NOT show any problems on the 160K old Dak, so I replaced the TB sensor, temp sensor, and speed sensor at the tranny. The problem never went away, until I replaced the ECM with a MP performance unit. The truck ran perfect the next 57K I drove it.

92 had a problem with the distributor bushing in the block, do the tech. bulletin and see if that is the problem. Symptoms are similar to what you describe.

I have a 92 that had the same problem. I tried all the above, and nothing worked untill I replaced the crank shaft sensor on the back of the block and had it timed.
