what are some of the races that you've won and what cars did you race against? anybody know why a 92 with a 5.2 is faster than a 99 with the 5.2 both are stock.

92 put out more power also, better exhaust and computer map.

Also, while gross lift was the same as later cams, the '92 had slightly more aggressive valve timing events. All-in-all, the '92 was the best setup.

I got beat along time ago in my 91 camaro by a dak around that year. At the time I had no idea they were so quick. I was really mad because I was like 20 and the guy in the dak was like 40 and was laughing at me at the next light. LOL

This might be off-topic, but do you think my 97 5.2 could outrun a
newer Ford Ranger with the V6 (4.0 or 3.0)? What about a 1989
Toyota Hilux with the 3.0 V6? Just wonderin'.

wow i had no idea that the 92 was so much better cause my buddy has one and i can never seem catch him he always beats my by one to one an a half truck lenghts the camero that i raced only beat me by about 3/4 of a lenght an it was a lightly modded 99 v6 auto

Ford 3.0L are so weak.And so is their older pushrod 4.0L.You will smoke either of them.
The ranger with the 4.0L overhead cam motor is a lot stronger than the older 4.0L.Havent seen them run .

i raced a new ranger with the 3.0 and he ran a 17.8 and i ran a 17 flat, my trucks a 3.9

I have seen 2.3 automatics out run 3.0 5speeds. They are so slow!!!!!!!!

I drive a 2.3L auto Ranger at work and that thing will move for a little 4 banger. When the transmission shifts the revs only drop to 4700 rpm before catching the next gear.

I wish my dak could shift like that. Ya think my 4.7 would break a ford ranger 5 speed tranny?
