Subject: cam specs into desktop dyno
IP: Logged

Message:
Hi. I'm trying to get some of the KRC cams entered into desktop dyno to see how they affect output on the 318. KRC shows duration, lift, and then one more number - 112. is this centerline?

Desktop dyno wants duration, lift, intake centerline in crank degrees, and lobe center angle in cam degrees. I am not sure how to enter their cams into the program.

Please help :-)

TIA,
Wal

Lobe separation. Often mistaken for centerline,
but quite different. Lobe separation is the number
of degrees between the peak intake and exhaust
lift points. In your case, 112 degrees.
Centerline is the position of the peak lift point
of the intake lobe in relation to top-dead-center.
This can be adjusted when degreeing in the cam,
thus installing a cam 4 degrees advanced, straight
up, or so many degrees retarded
