I purchased my Dakota with 77000 miles on it three years ago. The transmission was immmediatly rebuilt due to it slipping. I have only 10000 miles on it sinced then an dnow it does not always shift down into first gear when I stop. I had the fluid FLUSHED and the problem still exists. Any suggestions?

Usually, in a rebuild, the governor is re-used. Over time, it can deform and stick in the bore. Could also be a faulty servo, or the bands in need of adjustment. Start with the simplest thing first, however, and make sure the shifter linkage isn't loose, improperly adjusted, or damaged.
