I have a 92 dakota 318 4x4 with 165000K miles but the engine was rebuilt about 50K ago and the tranny was rebuilt about 30K ago. I am wanting to fix up the motor. I dont want supercharged or turbocharged or none of that jazz just all motor. I dont know where to start. If money is not a factor. I was thinking about starting out with a good head/cam combo but dont really know what would be a good combo. Keeping in mind to keep it all motor. Any suggestions or recommendations on where to get parts and what to do. Newbie here trying to gain some knowledge. Thanks in advance for your input i greatly appreciate it.

Head and cam combo would be a great start. The magnum r/t heads are pretty good.Or the Edelbrock magnum heads.I would get a custom grind cam.M-1 intake 2-barrel.Larger throttle body.(thefastman.com.)
bore and stroke the engine.408 cubic inches.
Headers,true duel exhaust.roller rockers.
power pulleys.have the heads ported and pollished.Have the computer reflashed.(krcperformance.com)

Go to krcperformance.com and start shopping. They have lots of goodies for all of the magnum motors including a wide assortment of heads and cams. You can give them a call and find out which cams go with which heads for the best power gains.
