Hotter cams and more ignition advance (Superchips or custom PCM flash) would be a good place to start.

Started w/glasspacked catback split exhaust,rm mechanical fan,& K&N dropin, & went from 16" to 15" wheels (ended up about 2"smalled tire diam)
Nice PU in performance, & GAS MILEAGE!
NEXT? thinkin about super chip, as most posts seem to indicate good bang foe buck... some just bolt on turbo..expensive. Cams best done by professional, but make addl pwr up high in RPM range-my mods improve low end torque, where you can feel it.Good luk w/yur truk. krellco

Actually, the HO cams are not just high rpm increase; they seem to increase power throughout the whole range. Krelco's opinion will be right if you go to hotter cams than that though. Many of us with average to good mechanical ability have succesfully done this mod (for me, it was my first cam swap). Worth reading up on what to watch out for though, lots of good info archived here. Someone now posting as "bash" recently had a problem with his "professional" installation; looks like someone less skilled who's done their homework and knows what to look out for might be better off...

Might cost a bit more, but you could get better quality limited slip and even lower gears (also better quality than stock) with aftermarket.

Sorry, forgot to note:
01 QC AWD 4.7auto
STOCK: city avg-12/13 hiway avg:(65-70) 16mpg
after mods (but w/ std 16 wheels & tires(large)
city avg 15+ hiway (65-70) avg 20+
Checked via computer & tank fill method.
The 15" make speedo read off,so havent computed
act.milage w/ them, but truck pulls stronger.
Havent run a 1/4 mi, however-QC/AWD isnt hotrod,
but have less than $400 in mods so far & have boosted pwr w/o sac gas milage.Ad my mods to Kowalski's & I bet U be in 14 1/4mi. What is your end goal? Kowal-did HO cams help overall? K

Yup, HO cams seem to help everywhere; as does extra ignition advance.

From your other thread, it doesn't sound like it was the cams themselves that weren't working - sounds more like an installation error. Too bad, I think you would have been pleased with them.

I think he should call (or email) KRC performance about the 2004 4.7 and they would probably know for sure being that they sell and install the cams.
