Subject: K&N drop-in VS. FIPK

I have a 92 dak 318. Right now I have drop in K&N Filter and wondered if anyone knew if there are noticeable gains between a drop-in filter compared to the FIPK made by K&N. I have taken the little restrictor plate thing off that is at the end of the intake tube and that helped a little bit as far as airflow. Is it worth the $$ to spend on the FIPK or just stick with the drop-in. Thanks in advance for you suggestions and help.

I have the FIPK. Im pretty sure the "cold air" does jack $hit. im guessing the difference in the temp going in is little to none than that of the air from a stock set up. A higher flowing air filter will only produce minimal gains at higher rpms as well because the engine already gets all the air it needs down low. id save your money and go for something else. (mine sounds cool sometimes so i guess that is a plus:) )
