Can it handle the abuse from a 5.9? I want to build an engine for my truck while I'm still in school b4 I get shipped out to the fleet and I'll have about 6 months to play around with it til I go to my command. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It's not rated for the input torque the 5.9L engine will put into it. How long it'll last depends on how many high RPM lauches you do, and how hard you load it.

It could work. In fact there are people who have done this. I think it was BillY at KRC performance that has built a 408 (360 bored/stoked) and put it in front of an NV3500.

So, to answer your opening question... Can it handle the abuse? Abuse: no. Can it stand up for some time if driven properly: sure.

What's your left foot doing?

Last time I checked, people like 'Duner', putting out WAY more HP and Tq than a 360, haven't had a problem with the tranny.

I put out more torque than a 360 is stock with my 4.7, and my nv3500 is doing fine.

Sweet deal...thanks. I'm just trying to figure what I want to replace my 3.9 with. Either 318 or the 360.

He did a burnout while towing his other Dak?
LOL I've watched Duner run a few times. Seems his R/T is his new main dragster these days.

Trukguy. What part of town are you in?

I'm closer to Speedworld than Firebird just to give you an idea.
