Anyone here ever done the a 4 cylinder to V8 swap?
If so can you use factory motor mounts? Will the V8 tranny auto or manual bolt in?
Also, when did Dodge start producing the Magnum 4 cylinder.
I'm looking at doing this swap in a genII dakota.

There have been a number of guys that have done this swap. Search this board using mark.dodgedakotas.com for threads pertinent to your question.
The most recent 4-banger, is actually the Jeep 4-cyl used in the AMC and Jeep vehicles. Dodge put it into the Dakota from 1996 thru 2002. Prior to that, the 4-banger was a Dodge (could have been Mitsu) 2.2L and 2.5L engine.
Good luck! I may do this to my 1999 RC if the current engine dies.
