 Subject: no overdrive after v/8 swap

recently swaped v/8 from 93 dakota to my 94 v/8 trany was bad so right at the moment the v/6 is back in till i have the v/8 trany repaird the problem is v/6 trany has sensor for spedo in the 94 truck .but the v/8 trany out of the 93 was a cable setup 'which i think you can swap as well' but i took the wiring harnes and ecm with the v/8 and is now in the 94 truck.the v/8 harness is different and will not hook up to the sensor of the v/6 trany .I think i need the speedo to work for me to have 4th gear can someone explain how or if i do need speedo to work , can the v/8 harness work or what
