Subject: Injector Clicking..getting 2 explination

Ok, i posted a month or so ago that i was getting a code telling me i had an electrical connection issue with my number 5 injector. Since then it has become an inconsisten problem, often only tripping a code when the engine has been run, warmed up, stopped, and then started again. It also has developed a very loud ticking sound coming from that cylinder bank.

So yesterday i went to a local shop to have them rotate the tires and take a "listen" to give me their idea as to what's going on. They said that the injector or something wasn't seating right and that the clicking was a result of the internals knocking together. I'm not sure what, weather it was the valve, rocker...whatever, could barely understand the dude.

So, today i went to the local dealer...to my surprise found that the service manager was a guy who had worked there a few years ago, left and came back. Good guy...remembered my name and never left me feeling like i was getting screwed. I had good reason to trust him, not like other douche bag service managers.

He calls me a few hours later and tells me that the injector wasn't getting the proper electrical current and that the ticking sound was a result of this. He also says it's a bad wire harness and can just do an "overlay" to fix it to the tune of 150 bucks.

My concern is this...who the hell is right?! Could both these scenarios be right? Both internal AND electrical?

Your help is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
jc

Since both places you went gave similar diagnosis, and since you trust this Dodge guy not to screw you over, and sisnce Dodge has all the right diagnostic tools at their disposal to verify the problem, $150 is not a bad price for Dodge to do it.
Pay with credit card, so you have recourse if something doesn't go right, or if the problem comes back soon after you drive it away.
