Same here!

Sometimes, I think I might want a louder exhaust. However, after reading posts from guys that complain about the noise inside the cab, I'm glad I went with the 3" Gibson single side exhaust.

As an additional bonus, Gibson claims it is their best performance system.

I put the 3" single outlet on mine Friday and it's sweet. Easy install. Everythig fit like it should & matched right up to the stock hangers. Loud enough that you know it's there without being annoying or obnoxious.
Quiet as a mouse cruising down the interstate, that is until you open 'er up!

I have a gibson cat-back 2 1/2" duals out the rear on a 4.7L. It sounds great, I have 9,000 miles. I have had it on since 2,000 miles. I also have intake mods. No complaints

put a Gibson system and a k&n air filter on my wife's 95 cherokee and got an honest 2-3 mpg better fuel mialage. I'm an older fart so the blistering need for speed has mellowed...lol sounds nice and throaty ,and between the 2 pieces has taken most of the blubbery idle out of her 4.0 liter straight six. It worked for my aplication.

Yep...stainless, swept-side...

Noticed an immediate difference on the butt-dyno...really complimented my intake & Fastman TB.

Also like the sound. At moderate to heavy acceleration, the Gibson definitely announces its presence, but cruising with overdrive on, it is only slightly louder than stock.

Definitely no regrets on that purchase!!

All this sounds promising!!!

Where is the best place to purchase the Gibson 3"?
How much does it sell for?
How easy is it to install yourself? No welding?

After scouring the Internet off and on for a little over a week, the best price I found online was just over $420 + S&H. I ended up ordering mine through the local 4-Wheel Parts for $420 even, and they ate the S&H fee.

Taking the stock exhaust off is a PITA. I had a problem getting the mufler off of the catalytic's head-pipe. Seems the factory had tightened the clamp down so tight that it had crimped the muffler & head-pipe together. I ended up have to use a cold-chisel to cut the top of the muffler neck opened and pry it out.

The install is completely painless...30 minutes tops. There is no welding. Just a couple of exhaust clamps.

I got mine through www.summitracing.com for $289.00 plus $5 S&H. Look on the Gibson web site, then add GIB- to the front, and that is the summit part number.

Been so long since I bought my cat-back, seeing that $290 figure made me wonder. After pulling up Summit Racing's web site, I remembered why mine was $420....it's the stainless steel model.

*sigh* They get you one way or another...

What I found was $420.00 for the stainless steel system. Why not just change the muffler and get the same results at one forth the cost. It seems like a waste of money to remove a stainless system for a galvanized to get only a few hp. I'll just get a new stainless muffler.
