yep thats a boost increased fuel pressure regulator. Although its a bit different from a FMU. That probally raised pressure by 1 psi of fuel or every psi of boost...where as my FMU raises 12 pounds of fuel pressure for every pound of boost. What you have will work well though if you use something to trim back those injectors.

You can adjust where the BTM starts to pull timing? I was under the impression that it started to pull timing as soon as the boost started.

Crow318...I know some of the newer msd boxes have a set point on the actual box when timing is pulled. I doesnt really matter for me because I rarely see under 5#'s of boost under WOT so it doesnt matter too much.

I hope it raises it more than 1 psi of actual fuel pressure per # of boost!

Otherwise it wont work for what he is doing. He's got HUGE injectors.

mopar318 you dont see more than 5psi? that sucks. the btm can be adjusted to start retarding timing anywhere from 0-5 psi starting out. then you have a adjuster that controls anywhere from 0-3 degrees i believe. or matbe 5 degrees.

NO NO!! I said I dont see UNDER 5PSI when im WOT!! I run about 9-10psi of boost max. As soon as I go WOT im at about 6 pounds of boost and it slowly raises to 9-10 pounds.

Me and rammer both blew out our head gaskets at almost the same time. The stock gaskets just dont hold boost since they are not meant to have the cylinder pressure from the factory. Detonation can increase the chance of a blown head gasket though.

And thanks for the compliment!

Nice looking truck Mopar318!

What part of the country are you located in?

Here's a video of what things look like when they're going right.

Very nice!!! Your running a paxton on the R/T correct? And the turbo on the 4.7?

What all did you do to make it run 11's?

That video is from when I was running the Vortech on it. It's turbo'd now. We'll soon find out what kind of numbers it puts down then.

The R/T has ported heads, mild cam, M1 2bbl, headers, Vortech (now turbo), MSD, air/water intercooler/airhat, 3000 stall convertor, 3.92s and slicks.

I wondered what part of the country you were in because the Truckin' Nationals are next month here in Phoenix. That would be just a bit of a drive for you tho. I was hoping to see your truck go down the track too!

Yeah thats a bit far but graphite dak and ramer are close I think? I know they are in arizona at least. You should get some pics up of your setup. Im thinking about ditching the paxton and going the turbo route here soon. I was looking at GT45's. You think that would be a nice sized turbo for me?

Looks great! Now how about some info on your air hat water-air intercooler. I was going to try and figure out a way to do a top mount since there is really no room to do a front mount on the gen II. Of course I could make one fit but it would take a alot of hacking at the front end.

Yup. Rammer was not running ANY fuel or spark management what so ever. Just BIG injectors we just installed and a 2 BAR MAP. Which totally fubar's the PCM at low load conditions.

We went ahead and installed his Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator because he wanted to try it. There are people who did Turbo Hemi's SWEARING this works.

We trimmed the fuel and tested it a few times. It seemed to work best when the pressure was dropped to 30PSI at idle. It increased the pressure up to at least 35PSI at 5 or so PSI. It could almost use a little more fuel pressure per PSI than that. But the AF gauge stayed in IDEAL/RICH the entire time now and idles without freaking or setting a code.

Maybe this is going to work. Even though it's a different stragety than a FMU with AUX pump.
I'd kind of think the fuel spray like this at LOWER pressure BIG injector may not be as great as a HIGHER pressure smaller injector spray... but who knows :p

Oh Duner. Now I remember why I wanted a 2BAR sensor to work LOL!!!!

Because while it makes no difference on Rammer's truck, to my understanding the MAP values have a large effect on SHIFT POINTS for the 5-45RFE tranny. So, from what I have heard running a blower or Turbo on these auto's causes them to drop to 3rd and even 2nd gear when on LITE throttle on hills, but not even in the throttle much at all.

Getting a 4.7 (or Hemi) with the 5-45RFE to work with a 2 BAR would probably prevent that problem. That may be why that guy with the turbo Hemi (talking to Rammer) was using a 2 BAR MAP.???

Oh yeah. Which track are the Nationals at?

Speedworld is 15 min drive. Firebird depends on the hour and day of the week! 60 min to 1.5 hour drive!

I would NEVER race my truck in a real racing event. It's not a race truck!

Now if Rammer's don't blow up.....???

We had some fun at Speedworld raceway last night.

We never got it exactly tuned but it didn't detonate so that was good. We drifted into the 15's, then got it back into the 14's.

I had the video camera in the truck and rode shotgun down the track. I made some nifty videos.

These are Real Player videos.

Here's one where we race a QC Hemi Ram. He had some mods. But we still beat him. ---> http://www.paysonarizona.net/Home%20Videos/Chris/092106_Racing_BigHornHemi.rm

Here's one where we race a riced out FWD Mercury Cougar. Check out the HOOD SCOOP on this stupid car! ---> http://www.paysonarizona.net/Home%20Videos/Chris/092106_Racing_RicedFWDCougar.rm

I've got several more funny ones. Check them all out here on my personal webspace ---> http://www.paysonarizona.net/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1157846721/0#10

It was not detonating, so that was a plus.

He actually doesn't get MORE fuel with the way his fuel regulator is set up. It just CUTS pressure on his big injectors. I don't think it changes the pressure enough per Lb of boost. Pretty much as you said it did. ABout 1PSI of fuel per PSI of boost. That is crappy.

We also need to throw on a fuel gauge that we can SEE when we are driving to make sure it isn't starving under high load.

His truck had a hickup on the way home though. LOST OIL PRESSURE!!!!

We babied it home. I think the oil filter MAY be the culprit. We took it off at a gas station. We pushed down on something in it and put it back on., It had oil pressure then went to ZERO again!

It was a FRAM. Figures!!!

Did you watch my videos? Like ALL of them on my website?
You will laugh at them :)
