Anyone ever had this happen? My check engine light came on the day AFTER I bring the truck home. I bought it from my wifes uncle. But anyway, I check the code and it was P0445, I think. Anyway it had to do with evaporative emissions. I changed the gas cap cause it was busted. Didn`t fix the light though. I checked all the vac lines on the charcoal canister, all looked good. I`d reset the computer and light would be back on in a handful of miles. The truck ran fine so I just learned to live with the light until the other day. I done my fluid change and decided I was gonna take the vac canister down and give it a good once over when I looked towards the front of the truck (I was now underneath it) and seen that I had an issue. The large vac line that runs from the back of the engine to the canister had somehow made its way close enough to the exhaust to melt it in to. I just happen to have some large enough ID fuel line to slip-fit and was able to graft the line back together. So far no light. I only thought the truck was running ok before. It runs like it ought too now.

LOL yes that happened to me in the same place! I figured it was because of how I was driving it off road through creeks and such! The exhaust melted right through it.

I forgot all about that repair. I shoved a piece of copper into mine if I remember correctly, as the tube is a harder plastic vs being a rubber line like older vehicles have.
