 Subject: 15 x 6 stock alloy rim size????

just a quick question here, on the sticker on the inside door jamb on my 98 2wd regular cab it says that the rim size is 15 x 6, is that normal because i thought it was 15 x 7. Stock tires that were on the truck when i got it were 215/75/15, i've since replaced them with toyo lt235/75/15. Are the rims on the 4wd 15 x 8 or 16x8 cause i was wondering if i were to get a set of rims off of a 4wd if the tires would be really narrow looking on the rim. Also, is there a different offset or back spacing on a 4wd rim, they seem to stick out a bit more giving the truck a wider looking stance.

the alloy on a sport model is 15x7 as you thought. The stock wheel for a dakota is a 15x6 steel wheel. The 4x4 and SLT's had 15x8 through '00 and switched to a 16x8 for '01+

15x6 rims are the stock steel rims, you'll often see them on company trucks, rarely on privately owned trucks
My '00 Sport has the 15x8 rims(255/65/15)
The 15x7 rims are the 5 spoke rims(235/75/15)
the 15x8 rims are the duel 5 spoke rims
(10 spokes in the 5 spoke pattern, know what i mean?) Hope that helps..........

I have the 15x6 alloys on my 97 SLT. I currently am running 235/75/15 cooper discoverer ast's. I ran 30x9.50 michelins last year.
