If I didn't have one you would never convince me that a little 3.7L would move a heavy truck like the Dakota as easy as it does. It's an absolute blast to drive and I still can't get over the amount of explosive power that it has. It'll actually chirp every gear up through fourth easy. If you're looking for a new Dakota, don't throw out the 3.7L because of it's small size. It's amazing in the Dakota...(or at least mine!) Anyone else impressed their the 3.7L?

Even power shifting into fourth gear you cant chirp the tires unless u downshift and let off the clutch quickley.....not calling you a liar but Highly improbable....but yes the 3.7 is superior to the 3.9 and I can vouch for that!

Guess I worded that a little wrong. I meant it as everything below 4th meaning 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I haven't really tried for fourth yet, but it's a fun truck either way!

glad your enjoyin the new dak. not to take anything away from the 3.7 but my '00 3.9 QC will chirp 'em on a hard 3rd gear upshift. it is by no means fast but has enough power to get the job done.

I'm not really knocking the 3.7 (I have one), but if I were to do it again, I'd get the 4.7. Not that much difference in MPG, but there is a lot more add-ons for it.

210 HP SHOULD BE PLANTY FOR THE DAKOTA. BUT DID YOU KOWN FULL SIZE 1500 HAS 215 HP WITH 3.7 V6.
I LOVE MY DAKOAT SO FAR.
