Subject: Idler pulley chirpping?
IP: Logged

Message:
While sitting at a red light the other day i noticed a chirpping sound coming from under my hood, got home popped the hood and tracked it to the idler pulley, does this mean the pulley is bad or could it be the belt(it looks ok). I noticed the the pulley moving under the pressure of the belt, sprayed some wd40 on it, was quite for awhile, then the chirpping started back again, I've got 64,000 mi's on the truck.

Sounds like the bearing is shot--- this is the tensioner??? or the idler pulley (in the middle of the AC/ALT bracket.

I havt the idlers in stock, and I can get you the tensioner (just have to order it).

Let me know if I can help.
