i have been looking for a locking diff for my front end when i stumbeled across this. i was told by my service manual that i have a 7.25 inch front axle, which makes sense. then i found a website that says that the 7.25 axle has a 9 bolt cover. i counted mine today and the front axle has a 10 bolt cover, the same as my 8.25 inch rear axle. the only ID i found was a tag on both pumpkins that says 355, which i figure is my gear ratio. what is going on? is someone wrong? do i have a bigger axle up front? thanks, Steve

I think that the website is wrong. I have a 7.25 pinion in the front and an 8.25 pinion in the rear. Both covers have a 10 bolt hole pattern.
My truck is a 93. What is yours?
