Many standard trannies " whine in reverse " ..
Unless the ' noise ' just started or
is getting noticeably worse/louder
it is just a part of life..

due to the design of the gears inside the tranny many standards do whine in reverse. I believe it is due to the helical cut gears in the tranny that causes them to whine. It's no big deal, they all do it.
