flowmaster 70 series muffler p#52572 is the same. Sounds great on the v6. I put one on mine last week.

Dynomax 17748 also a good replacement muffler. Sounds really nice on a V6, although it is not much louder than stock from the cab.

I just installed a flowmaster 40 series delta flow on my truck about 2 days ago. It is around ten inches shorter then the stock muffler (I can't remember the exact measurement). I just bought stainless steel pipes (from Murrays) to extend it. You can get them that are larger in diameter at one end to fit around existing pipes. The total cost ended up at around 100 dollars. If you are wondering, the muffler you want is offset in/offset out. It didn't look like it at first, but the stock muffler is tilted. Anyway, I love the way it sounds on the 3.9. At first I was worried that it would be insanely loud, or sound ricey, but it sounds great. I pretty much have the same truck as you, except mine is an extended cab. Good Luck.

I have a '00 V6 I want to upgrade the exhaust system but don't know what to buy. Guys I have talked to at work say get a Gibson or flowmaster. I am leaning towards a Extrem Dual Gibson but I would to know if anyone has one to see if what affect it has the truck. Let me know!!

I just took off the split rear gibson system. It robbed all the low end torque and was way too loud inside the cab. Like I said above go with the flowmaster 70.

To Jared: How has the performace of your V6 been since you put the Flowmaster 70? What I am looking for a beefy sound with increased power and mileage. In one week have you been able to determine that switching was a good idea?

There was a noticable power increase over the gibson. Seems like a slight increase over stock. I drive mostly city (I live outside of Providence RI) so gas milage on this truck is never good. I noticed that the truck runs better now than it did with the Gibson on it. The sound of the flowmaster is awesome.
