 Subject: what have i done??

well stupid me, went to cut a donut to turn around, my truck is a 5spd, i kept it in 1st gear, i did hit the rev limiter to, the i stopped to go, and then i hear the engine tick or knock at about 2500 rpm then goes away. truck only has 8455 miles on it i used Valvoline snythetic oil to. any ideas? im so bummed now....

yes it still ticks around 2500 rpms and up. i have always put in 89 octane when i fill up. my boss said I prolly need a new motor. damn that sucks im mad at myself....maybe i can trade it in on a V8 Dak.....later

WOW what possessed you to do that?? what did you rev to?? if you were around 4800, it shouldnt have caused much if any damage (unless it stayed that high for more then a few seconds) i bet it was fun though :-P
anyways..
check your exhaust manifold bolts, they can break easily especially with the high rev pressure....
is it a knock or a tick? sound if its a tick, i wouldnt be all too concerned about it (lifter noise, manifold bolt), if its a knock its more serious (rods and other bottom ens parts)...
hopefully its nothing major, your dak isnt even beginning to wake up yet. my v6 i had, didnt really "wake up" until about 15K!!

its more of a knocking sound. yeah it should be under warranty right, i bought the biggest warranty i could get with the truck. my freind said that him and a freind cut donuts up where we were, i dont drive my truck that hard all the time really, so i fugred what the hell, just whip it around real quick and continue crusin, ya know? thanks for the input yall.

Ok, I hope that everyone knows by now that you should check the link's path before actually clicking on it. Well, I've done plenty of things like that with my truck and never blew a motor. I wouldn't exactly call my 2002 5.9L R/T a "grandpa farm truck" either. Killing a F150 is just a drive home from work for me!

I'm just trying to educate you a little- in vain apparently. Why are you so afraid to learn something new?
Perhaps you should look into taking some adult education classes. You obviously don't have anything better to do with your time. I'm sure that there's a teacher out there who can help you to assemble more than four sentences. Yes, I know that I'm being generous here by counting "Always." and "Hahaha." as complete sentences.
By the way, are you able to express yourself without the foul language? That must be a serious handicap for you, both at work and at home. Have you considered seeking therapy?
