If I rev my 2000 3.9L up to about 3500 to 4500 rpms it idles way down and almost dies. Then some times it idles down really slow after a hard rev and stops at about 1500 rpms for a few seconds then idles to 700 rpms. What might the problem be?

IAC idle air control back of TB
this you can remove and clean with a can of carb
cleaner just do not push pull or twist the plunger

it could also be your TPS throttle position sensor
drivers side of TB
This would need to be replaced if hanging up and
not returning to low volts center wire and ground
key on not running open and close throttle a few
times and make sure it always returns to the same
low volts, between .35 .75 they very but should
always return to the same low volts

my truck has 73000 miles on it and everything is original besides the home brew air intake and cat back exhaust. how hard is it to clean the IAC, taking it out and everything? Plus how hard is it to replace the TPS?
thanks
