Subject: What size tb?

Message:
I plan on buying a throttle body and was wondering if the fastman 46mm or the fastman 50mm would be better for my truck. The truck is a 93 Dakota 3.9. I have the flowmaster 40 series on there and have jba headers on the way. I plan on in the future getting the 1.7 roller rockers and K&N kit. I was wondering since the 50mm tb is for highly modified V6's would that not be for my truck if I am not there yet. Will it dog out on launces? I am wondering if it matters if I get the 46mm or 50mm. The 46mm is for mildly modified and I will reach that soon. Should I plan for the future or will the 46mm do? Any input is welcome and thanks ahead of time for you help.

If you have the return style fuel system (which a lot of early 93's did) then go with the bigger MM. If you have the return style then you probably have the best flowing exaust manifolds and exaust the 3.9 Dak ever came with and your 3.9 can handle the larger MM TB's.
The smaller MM TB's are good for the choked 3.9's that came after the mid 93's.

You didnt say if you had an auto or man, if man dont worry about your launches, you control leaving RPM and auto I doubt you'd have any problem.

If your going with more mod's down the road then dont waste your money on the "mild mod" TB.

Good luck.
