Ok here are some tricks that I have found that seems to make the auto 3.9 really rev much more than if you just punch it from start to finish. When you start a race don't punch it only hit it about 1/2 to 3/4 and let it get to about 2200 then hit it and the truck will shift down and mine has a little bit of front end raise and let it ride til about 55 which I can ride my truck til about 90 before it slows but then kick off the O/D button and even if you have already shifted down it will shift down again and really raise the rpms for about 3 seconds I have had the rpms at 4500 at 90 mph before it shifts and that really gets the truck moving until you hit about 105 and then it just starts pulling and I have not had it any higher but I was pretty comfortable at 105 holding it with on hand just rolling. Oh ya and about the s10's and rangers and tacomas if you are so sure that your truck will lose to those trucks in a race then don't race them. I know that I can drive and I know all about my dakota it fits me like a glove and I feel totally safe racing any rice burner or low budget ride because my dak is MOPAR PERFORMACE for the working class and I am proud to own one.

it's called keeping the truck in first gear in short, because with auto 1st gear is your strongest gear. ;)

With mine I just leave it in drive and put it on the floor. It doesn't shift until 4500-4800rpms, you wouldn't want to go much over that anyway. I have a question. What is valve float?
