Family always comes first (girlfriends included as they "might" become family).
Never pi--off a girlfriend or wife...you can't disconnect their battery to "reset them" and parts aren't cheap if you break them. ;)

I still think the answer to this question is quite simple, I say take care of the truck, the laddies will come, I have a great woman in my life, but I love my truck with all of my heart. After all women come and go, but a beautiful truck is hard to come by. Honestly you need to decide things for yourself, no one can make your mind up for you. Good luck with your decisions.

I know for a fact that my fiancee knows the difference between a Dak and an S-10...I traded in an S-10 for the Dak. :)
Current mods: A MUFFLER. That's it. (For now.)

it was my girlfriends birthday a few days ago and i got her a card, a soft little teddy bear, and some candy. then the next day i dropped $1500 in my dak on a belltech/DJM drop kit and new pirelli scorpion zero tires, and she complains cause i only spent $30 dollars on her. i say keep the female spending to a minimum and pimp the dakota

Guys!!! A relationship is supposed to be a 50-50 partnership! Find a woman who doesn't expect you to spend ALL of your money on her. On the other hand, no way would I be with someone who makes a statement like "my truck comes first" that isn't a relationship, that would fall into the superficial pickup category. The right person WANTS you to be happy.

Amen Lesley! Why aren't there more like you? Most girls I know are like "ok, here I am, wait on me hand and foot". None I know understand my love of cars, they think it is stupid. I'm not in a relationship so I can say "my truck comes first". But when I find "HER" my truck will never come frist. I might spend more money on my truck, but never more time and affection, that is what really counts, not material things. True love is far to valuable to waste on a peice of metal.

Well, I have never let a guy spend money on me, I make my own. On the other hand, I won't take any of that guy shît either because I'm not bought and paid for. It's all about what works for you on a basis of equality. I love my truck, obviously I am not going to be interested in someone who thinks that isn't a good thing.

this is indeed one of life's most important questions; the girl, or the truck? well, from personal experience, if it's the truck, the girl gets mad, and moves to NC wearing all the expensive jewlery u did buy her, she also hates cars for the rest of her life, which is unfortunate. hey, i love my truck as much as the next guy...sometimes too much, for some reason my friends use the word "obsessed," go figure, however, with the new girl it's definitely her first, there's no substitute for that special female companionship, nope, not even the companionship of our beautiful beloved trucks (which is admittedly hard to beat). but i got lucky, this girl takes care of her car just as religiously as i do my truck, and she prefers driving stick (yeah ok so she works for and drives a toyota....we can work on that, i've already got her kind of liking dakotas, its a work in progress). but this new girl is a keeper, she's gotta come first.....though i do like the post about if she's "the one" she'll buy the mods for u....i may suggest that, and pray to God that i can still have kids after i mention it.

lesley, but it's raining outside! i guess it's one of life's little sacrifices (installing kill switch next wednesday!).
yeah, my girl likes daks too. she use to drive it when she first sold her old car. almost got her to buy a purple dakota rt but it reaked of smoke real bad. i cant complain because my girlfriend buys me what i ask for on my birthday and christmas (coilover kit, he he he). but of course i have to spend triple the amount to make it right.

Interesting... Just last night I was telling my lady that I was going to spend $100 on my kota and she told me that I could spend it on her and I said no!! Then she was just quiet for a while, but she knows already, so she was just tripping. Then I told her that she could quit going to shop at Express and get me somthing insted, she spent $196 on close sunday and she complains about me, but I still love her though.

you guys will never believe this. my girl of 7 months actually TOLD me not to get her a birthday present so i could spruce up my dak a little. this was about two months ago. i almost wet my pants when she told me that. it was a grand experience. i did get her a little something though, i felt guilty.

and my g/f comes before my dak......but i spend more on my dak! =) (thats my lil secret though she thinks the lowering kit i purchased cost $50)
and i couldnt be in a relationship with somebody that didnt like my truck b/c my truck is my life basically. had alot of good times with it...and 1 bad one =)

I just screwed up the best thing that ever happend to me. My wife. I did somthing that i shouldnt have and now i think i am going to be alone. I dont know how things will go but i do know this, Charrish every min that you are with someone, Dont ever take thiem forgranted like i did, and last of all if you spend too much time on eather at one time, Your spouse/Girl, will hate you for ever. I dunno... either one or the other.. i'd watch my truck be demolished if it meant another day with anne. she won't be the one telling me that though, she loves my truck, she loves hers too! u need to find a chick with a dropped 63 chebby that points the chicks in skimpy clothes out TO YOU! (that would make me one of the luckiest men on earth... yep!) i love my woman and i wouldn't hesitate to give anything or everything to keep her. i understand love comes before material things but your girlfriend/wife/mistress/*hooker* needs to also let you spend time with other things other than her... my girl (lauren (shut up dr0p0ff)) lets me have time with my truck (quite time) and i spend plenty of time with her. Sometimes she even comes out to talk to me and try to help me (intrupting quiet time) even though she doesnt like cars/trucks at all, other than driving them of course.
green giant... she must of not been the one if she left because you spend too much time with out her... but that probably isnt the whole story, just going by what i see. any how... best of luck to the boths of you
